Origin of dice
In the ancient ages, people of cults and religions used different objects as
animals' bones or sticks to define the will of gods. These things were thrown
up and spilled on the ground, making up some figure. By this figure people determined
a desire of ancient gods. This ritual marked the beginning of many fortune-tellings
known in our times. Tossing up dice is also considered a trace of the ancient
cult.
There is no doubt that dice first appeared in the Orient. Into Europe dice
were brought by Arabic merchants and travellers. At the beginning of the XVIII
century, the game became known in North America.
