Referendum Outcome Near
Awareness is rising with New Jersey’s Referendum in November 8 to legalizing
sports gaming in Atlantic City gambling venues, at state run online casinos and
at the racetracks throughout New Jersey. Governor Chris Christie pointed out
that he will honor the overall choice on the matter, rather than veto the online
casino bill as he did last time. The official disreputably prohibited a bill
prior this year that would encompass a legalized intrastate internet casinos and
gambling, regardless of the intense support the purpose had accomplished in the
legislature.
In a speaking engagement in Jersey City, Governor Christie said that he will
support a referendum on next week’s poll asking his constituents on whether to
legalize sports betting and online casinos once the federal prohibition is
lifted. He noted that it is immature to believe that illegal online casino and
betting is not going on, and to take the sports gambling out from the obscurity
and make it legal. According to Governor Christie, he wishes that those to
benefit from it will be the residents of New Jersey and not just the entities
operating organized crimes. With the referendum, New Jerseyans will have that
chance to offer the state a more firm basis to throw down the gauntlet the ban
of the federal government towards sports betting and other Internet gambling
games. The governor said that if it falls short he wouldn’t have any concern in
pursuing it.
The latest polls from Fairleigh Dickinson University have revealed that there is
hefty support for the online casino and sports gambling notion, although some
spectators have articulated doubts that the poll question has not obtained
adequate public disclosure, which may affect lack of knowledge and consciousness
of the scheme in various state electorate. |
