Online Casino Licensing Jurisdiction
In a new and pretty rare move, two major licensing jurisdictions in the online
casino gambling industry have announced a collaboration agreement that will have
both of these jurisdictions sharing information about the online casinos they
choose to license. The global gambling industry has only continued to get
smaller and smaller as communication mediums increase in their effectiveness and
there are new standards and expectations. The two licensing jurisdictions
represent two of the biggest names in the market, the Kahnawake Gaming
Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. The KGC is arguably the
bigger of the two, but what Alderney lacks in size, the licensing jurisdiction
has made up for in reputation.
Both licensing jurisdictions announced a new collaboration of an unspecified
nature. The two Commissions jointly singed a Memorandum of Understanding – and
what that precisely means within the online casino gambling industry is actually
unclear. Basically, the two jurisdictions have agreed to share relevant
information and matters that are of a common interest. Again though, that’s
about as clear as the agreement is getting. The two Commissions have agreed to
elaborate no further on the types of information they will be sharing nor
concerning what online casino data will be passed from one jurisdiction to
another.
These two licensing jurisdictions are incredibly active within the online casino
gambling industry but yet have different levels of reputation, though the KGC is
the larger of the two, the KGC has encountered some setbacks in obtaining
prestigious white listing status from the UK Gambling Commission. Alderney on
the other hand has less licensed gaming sites but enjoys a comfy spot of the
UK’s white list of advertising permitted jurisdictions. |
