Scandal Lives On
The online casino poker gambling scandals that rocked the entire foundation of
internet poker several years ago has resurfaced this week as Cereus Poker faces
some new obstacles challenging the company’s security data encryption. Has this
issue really ever been laid to rest, however? There have been countless new
stories over the past several years as journalists attempt to really unlock all
of the secrets that were covered up within the scandal. Cereus Poker’s owner,
Tokwiro Enterprises, was very reluctant to update the public with the details of
the Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker debacles. This meant that other online
casinos and information portals went wild with speculation in the more than year
and a half that it took for the full investigations.
Communication was a very key problem in the previous scandal and even several
years later the online casino gambling industry has been left wondering. Russ
Hamilton took the brunt of the fall for the huge cheating scandal at Ultimate
Bet and Absolute Poker, but there is a current journalist who recently published
a piece that speculates that Hamilton was merely the fall person. The real
cynicism though lies in whether the Kahnawake Gaming Commission had a hand in
covering up the truth or if this is an internal issue for Tokwiro Enterprises
and the entire Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker executive staff.
A respected online caisno industry insider, Haley Hintze- also the former editor
of Poker News, has recently dug up a slew of new research and theories about the
two major cheating scandals that have been unparalleled within the online casino
gambling industry. At this point her theories have some basis but she may never
fully know if her hypothesis is correct about Hamilton because of the huge
cover-up efforts that are long over now and the truth may be firmly buried. |
