Online Casinos Play a Role
Ralph Topping, the CEO of William Hill has recently taken to the press again to
re-evaluate how far the gambling group has come over the past two years and
where Topping plans to continue taking Will Hill. In this case, Will Hill made a
bold and very unsuccessful move into the online casino betting industry in 2008
and that failed miserably and cost the gambling group a very fair amount of
capital. Since that failure though, Will Hill has really focusing of recouping
revenues and building strong online casinos and betting products through the
licensing of other software from some of the top names in the internet gambling
industry. In the past two years, what started on the rocks though has really
progressed into the cornerstone and most lucrative division of the large land
and internet gambling group.
Topping has noted that he feels that the online casinos and all of the company’s
internet gaming divisions will remain a key focus for expansion and will likely
remain as the chief revenue earners. That being said, Will Hill already has a
strong and last presence in the UK betting market, so although the internet
divisions are lucrative Will Hill has, and will continue to have, a presence
within the land betting industry in the UK in particular. Topping was pleased to
talk about Will Hill’s more recent successes with the online casino sites
because the company is really returning strong profits and revenue now that Will
Hill moved the internet gambling division offshore.
The future for Will Hill is definitely going to have the online casinos playing
a central role because of their sheer ability to continue delivering strong
returns. Additionally, Topping was pleased to note that the company’s
partnership with Playtech is already quite lucrative and is expected to turn in
much larger earnings as the year continues. |
