New UK Gambling Head
The UK has a new man running the show as a result of the recent elections – and
the government is quite a change from the previous administration as the
Conservative Liberal Party won the election and there have been a slew of new
appointments within the top branches of government. One of the key changes that
relates to the land and online casino gambling industry is the new Secretary of
State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Jeremy Hunt. Hunt has just been
appointed to the job and will now have the task of overseeing the UK Gambling
Commission as well as ensuring that new changes are implemented to the UK’s
online casino gambling industry in the very near future to stop the flow of
businesses out of the country.
Hunt is very pleased to now work in the role of Secretary of State for Culture,
Olympics, Media and Sport and had a lot of positive things to say about his
plans for developing the country over the next two years to prepare for the 2012
summer Olympic games. It’s a good thing that the online casinos are an issue
that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later because Hunt is already
thrilled to be a part of the UK government that will lead the Olympic building
efforts. Hunt has a lot of experience in various companies and other positions
in the government that have nicely prepped him for those news tasks he will take
on as Culture Secretary.
Hunt’s message echoes that of the new party in power – the message of change, a
message that worked incredibly well for President Barrack Obama on the campaign
trail. Hunt noted that the country craves change in so many areas – to online
casino gambling regs and other areas that more directly effect their lives. Hunt
notes that he wants to be the UK department heralding that change – a refreshing
enthusiasm in UK politics. |
