Garriott found inspiration for his current Portalarium social networking site through a trip to outer space…literally. Garriott is one of the few civilians in the world that had enough money to pay for a spot on a Russian rocket that docked at the International Space Station. With a vantage point in outerspace, Garriott surely came up with some innovative new concepts for online casino games, as well as new ways to build a cohesive and global open learning and sharing environment.

The Portalarium project is the first step in helping Garriott accomplish goals that he has set to connect the virtual world through social networking; and in this case through the online casino poker gambling population. The new social networking technology is in development right now and will launch onto Facebook and Apple products in the coming weeks and months according to Garriott.
