Not Remotely Done Yet

The Chinese government is very aggressively working to eliminate online casino gambling in the country using forceful tactics out of the police force. The government has tried several failed methods for controlling the influx of illegal internet gambling and yet only this latest attempt has found some real success. Basically, the threats to censor the computers in the country through mandatory filters was met with international outrage and those plans were halted just days before they were supposed to be implemented. Now though, this year is focused on actual manpower to seek out all of the illegal online casinos and eliminate the illegal gambling rings manually.

The Chinese officials announced this new policy fairly recently and have really got right onto the threats and have been arresting illegal gambling rings right and left. Dozens of the major online casino gambling rings have already been found and individuals arrested. The Ministry of Public Security has noted that the officials plan to continue all of their efforts in the coming months against the internet gambling industry. Illegal online casino gambling is present all throughout the country despite the government’s efforts to really stop the industry. Police forces across China have been authorized to launch task forces specifically seeking out the illegal gambling rings.

Another major challenge for the Chinese officials is the fact that even the largest of the online casino gambling groups refuse to comply with the bans on Chinese gambling. Most major software development companies, and the sites themselves, offer targeted games in Chinese and aimed at this market.
