Nevada Prepares for Online Casinos
The United States online casino gambling market is evolving just a bit more as
the Nevada State officials are considering the eventuality of a legal US
gambling market – and they are preparing accordingly. Nevada is in a pretty
sticky situation right now because the state is primarily controlled by the
interests of the state land gambling industry. As the online casinos were
expelled from the US market, Nevada land venues were largely supportive of the
development because it means less competition in an already difficult
marketplace. But now, the internet gambling industry is seen as inevitable and
some of the land venues are even beginning to build a foundation in the internet
gambling industry in anticipation of new US rules.
To further the situation, Nevada is apparently also considering new legislation
that would put regulations in place for Nevada gaming companies launching online
casinos, perhaps even ones outside of the US. The idea behind the new
regulations is to really prep the Nevada market for the legalization of internet
gambling. The Nevada Gaming Control Board is initiating the new rules which will
cover some of the bigger unknowns in the market – free play-money chance gaming
sites, advertising, and other issues that are bound to crop up as online casino
gambling becomes a hotter topic in Nevada.
The fact is, all of the US states need to begin addressing the online casino
gambling industry in state legislation because the changes are coming and only
through proper and clear rules can the state governments ensure that ethical
gaming practices are in use at operators and throughout the industry. |
