Looking Into Ayre
The Canadian television programming is fast becoming a whole lot more interested
in the online casino gambling industry as the country slowly moves toward
legalization. CTV is a newly launched station in the country that specifically
looks at the internet gambling industry and is aimed at providing a broad range
of coverage – everything from covering major tournaments in the internet poker
industry to major announcements from the online casinos and a fair bit of
investigative journalism to boot. The new station has just launched in the
market and the first of the investigative programs aims a close look at Calvin
Ayre – the undeniable playboy of the gambling industry.
Ayre is pretty well known in the online casino gambling industry internationally
because of his antics that coincide with a ruthless business sense that has
propelled his gambling site straight to the top of the US industry. Ayre’s
businesses are also rising internationally as he licenses out brands to the UK
and other burgeoning markets. The online casinos and poker gambling are his
specialty in the industry, but he made his name through controversial events and
run-ins with the US market.
The investigative program actually went pretty soft on Ayre and offered a more
broad look at his history and the development of the Bodog brand in particular.
The program delved a bit Ayre’s relationship with the Mohawk tribe as well as
how he managed to finagle his way out of serious fines and domain name seizures
int eh US market. The program didn’t unearth anything new and shocking on Ayre,
but it did provide a pretty decent look at his role in the international market. |
