Huge Absorption for Online Casinos
Merge Gaming has announced some acquisitions that will drastically change the
landscape of the online casino gambling industry more than anything else of its
kind in the past year of gambling industry mergers and acquisitions. Merge
Gaming is a smaller player in the industry – the poker network is viable and
reputable but definitely does not compete with the likes of Poker Stars, and
even the Microgaming Poker Network. That is all about to change though; the
company has made strategic expansions a central focus for the year and has
already really taken some aggressive steps forward in acquiring smaller online
casinos and poker networks that will grow the brand larger rapidly.
First up on the site’s acquisitions was the PokerHost.com network – this online
casino poker site has been completely absorbed into the current Merge Gaming
network and players were simply migrated over without a lot of fuss. Then, in a
rapid move Merge was able to close down deals with three online poker sites
licensed out of Antigua that have smaller but very viable poker networks:
Sportsbook.com and SuperBook.com along with PlayersOnly.com. These three sites
have also been simply absorbed onto Merge’s fast growing poker network. The
industry news has really been buzzing with these four internet casino poker
sites now operating fully on the Merge Gaming Network.
As if these absorptions were not enough, Merge scored a major coup now that the
fun and reputable Cake Poker Network is also becoming a part of the Merge online
casino poker network. With all of these new acquisitions and mergers the Merge
Gaming network has truly just exponentially increased the size and viability of
the brand and is now becoming a major player in the market with a quite decent
share of the poker network. Merge is also quite large enough to allow for larger
tournament and poker action. |
