US with Online Casinos the Pot
There’s a really popular saying in the West that ties right into the China and
United States situation. Both countries have blocks and bans on the online
casino gambling industry and have no intention of properly regulating and
legislating the internet gambling industry. The US though has spoken very
outright against China’s plan to censor internet content through the ISPs as a
way to block internet gambling, among other information. But this is a situation
of the pot calling the kettle black, because the US is on this same path.
Although the US government is not planning on placing censors to block content
and filter out these sites, US legislation is blocking internet gambling at the
financial level. In this way, the US and China are actually pretty similar.
The United Kingdom has clearly shown that effective regulation of the online
casino gambling industry is possible despite claims from both the US and China
that the industry is uncontrollable and unsafe for its citizens. Considering
that the US is the land of the free, it’s really interesting to note that the US
more closely resembles China’s policies than the UK. The US Department of
Justice has really begun to come down hard on the US online casino gambling
industry, so much so that there is fear in the US of legal action simply for
enjoying games from their homes.
Never before in the history of the US has there been such an attack on civil
liberties and personal freedoms like there is as the US attempts to block
offshore online casinos and all foreign internet based gaming action. |
