The fact of the matter is simple, there is very little research that shows that the online casinos lead to higher rates of problem gambling. No matter what the Aussie media is publishing the internet gambling industry can be effectively regulated against underage gambling. The technology already exists and foreign markets have already employed identification technology to prevent the youth from accessing these sites – there is no reason to think that this same software and technology would not be equally as effective in Australia.

The biggest force working against the online casinos right now is government and the media in Australia. The government issued a study and a report from the Productivity Commission and the result was actually a recommendation from the Commission that Australia regulate and license the industry – advice some in the government are finding very hard to take.
