Has it Ever Worked?
Nation after nation all over the world seems to be learning the hard lesson that
blocking and banning the online casinos is an ineffective solution that does not
allow the government any level of control over the gambling that is taking place
despite the bans. There are now countless examples that have taken place over
the past several years that so very clearly demonstrate that the online casino
gambling industry is unstoppable through regulations of any kind. Each nation
that wants to block gambling for the public moral and safety have found it
ineffective and yet, like a sinking ship, they do not abandon the gambling
blocks and admit defeat. Why aren’t these nations learning their lessons from
each other?!
Three years ago the United States government made headlines with the
controversial ban on gambling transactions between US gamblers and offshore
online casinos. Even more prominent than the media coverage of the ban though
has been all of the coverage highlighting the flaws and errors that have not
enabled the US government to even remotely create an effective system that can
stop the gambling transactions. That was one of the first major attempts to
create gambling regulations that could push out access to online casino sites
and the rest of the world did not take heed.
Then Russia decided that the online casinos weren’t the issue but rather the
land gambling industry on the whole. There was only a low level of illegal
internet gambling occurring in Russia because of the well developed land
industry. Once the land venues were pushed out of the market though the online
casinos moved in and Russia now has an underground land market complimented by
unregulated internet gambling. Australia and China are attempting blocks that
are not working. Several European countries have created ineffective monopolies.
The only proven successful control over internet gambling has come out of
regulating and licensing the sites. |
