Skilled Team for New Project
Ladbrokes and Canal+ previously announced plans for a joint venture into the
French online casino gambling industry that is now really starting to take
shape. Both of the companies are eager to use their license to launch into the
newly opened French market and take a share of the waiting market. Both
companies have a strong reputation in the marketplace for excellence and their
new joint site is an anticipated success. The latest development toward
launching the new company is the setting of the management team. Both companies
have contributed some of their top talent to the new company and the management
team for the new online casino gambling site has decades of experience and
success within the gambling industry.
The two central members of the new company are François Deplanck in the role of
CEO and Mick D’Ancona as the COO. Deplanck brings to the management team
experience within the French market, though not necessarily the online casinos
because this is really the first liberalization of the market and the first time
that the French government is welcoming a relatively competitive internet
gambling market. D’Ancona on the other hand has experience with Ladbrokes as the
former head of the IT department and remote gambling operations for Ladbrokes.
These two have the joint expertise for a successful online casino gambling
operation, but are also joined by a handful of other highly skilled board
members.
Although Ladbrokes is working with Canal+ to launch this new joint online casino
and internet gambling venture, Ladbrokes has publicly noted that the company
will not launch any other French gaming sites while the venture with Canal+ is
in operation. At this point this aspect of the deal is not a major sticking
point because of all of the severe taxes that offshore companies face for
operating within the French market without a link to a French based company. |
