Rival Online Casinos Not to Blame
As online casinos all over the United States close their virtual doors a lot of
these gaming sites were previously powered on the Rival gaming platform. Rival
Gaming has been a victim of the recent US crackdown on illegal offshore internet
gambling. The UIGEA enforcement regulations took effect on June 1, 2010 and at
that time the major US financial institutions and banks began a new system of
blocking certain banking codes as a way to comply with the enforcement
regulations. There are still some weaknesses to the current method but they have
been solid enough to fully prevent Rival Gaming from finding a way to continue
powering US facing online casino sites. Rival powered sites have fought with the
banking industry for weeks now attempting to find a way around the blocks as a
way to process deposits and withdrawals but were unable to find a reliable
method for processing transactions with US players.
This is an issue that all of the US centered online casinos are facing right now
as the payment blocks become only stronger as the banks and financial
institutions share information and work together to block the industry. One
issue facing customers and online casino gamblers is the fact that their account
holdings are tied up within Rival Gaming and yet the gambling group has no real
way to payout account balances right now. And it’s not the fault of the online
casinos either – although the sites are shutting down the account funds are held
through Rival and these sites can merely tell players that they hope that Rival
will honor the current account funds and pay out player balances once an
effective payment processing system is found.
The fact that thousands of online casino gamblers have been affected by this
bill is simply further indication that the US is seriously lacking on needed
controls for a safe and legalized internet gambling industry. As it stands now
players are risking their funds to companies they hope are scrupulous and they
hope will remain in operation.
