Provincial Attention for Online Casinos
Canadian provinces are now jumping into the fray and most have announced that
they are stepping into the online casino gambling industry to pick up the slack
where the Canadian has left ambiguous gambling polices. And in a rare move that
shows real cooperation several of the Canadian provinces are in talks to create
cross-ventures between the provinces and build a stronger network and foundation
for the online casinos than is possible should these provinces operate alone.
The plan to legalize the online casinos through the Canadian provinces is a
fairly new plan that was launched in the Spring of 2010 as the provincial
governments looked at the US states that are creating mini-industries under
their own control as a way to fund state budget.
This same situation is now being applied to the Canadian provinces as they
create their very own sets of regulations and licensing structures to control
the online casinos and also funnel some of the tax revenues from the gambling
industry into the state coffers. This method has proven very effective in small
European countries and comes at a time when nations and provinces all over the
world are looking for new revenue sources and new employment opportunities. The
Canadian legalization and licensing of online casinos within the province will
function well on both of these accounts.
Although it has only been a couple of months since the Canadian provinces
announced their plans to investigate and license the online casinos they are
acting quickly and Quebec looks like it will be the first of the provinces to
actually launch its planned gambling industry through the already well
established state lottery system, Lotto Quebec. It is anticipated that other
Canadian provinces will follow suit in the coming months and throughout the end
of the year. |
