The Russian government made a bold move two years ago that was intended to really give a strong level of control over the land and online casino gambling industries. In addition to the online casinos that are now much more popular in Russia the gambling groups merely revamped their product offerings to less resemble the slots and games of chance and instead installed lottery machines and terminals that have grown in popularity and really quite resemble some of the previous games of chance. The Russian regulations do not clearly spell out the requirements for which games are banished to the four remote regions and which games, like the lottery, are able to be legally offered throughout the country.

And one of the more alarming outcomes of the land casino ban throughout Russia has been the underground and black market games that are now incredibly prevalent. The online casinos are one option for interested gamblers but so are underground poker and chance games that have locals even bribing the law enforcement in the country now creating a whole new level of corruption that didn’t exist when the gambling regulations were not enforced.
