Payment Options for US Players
The online casino gambling ban in the United States that makes processing
transactions illegal for US banks has a lot of internet gamblers and poker
players concerned about their ability to continue using US facing gambling
sites. The UIGEA is thought to specifically apply to the offshore online casinos
and there is a strong argument throughout the US that internet poker is not
included in the UIGEA blocks because poker is argued to not be a game of chance
but rather skill. The US banking institutions are confused as well and it seems
that now, a month after the UIGEA enforcement regulations have taken effect,
some US banks are still allowing payments between US players and online poker
sites while other US banks have flagged the transactions as a part of the UIGEA
blocks.
Full Tilt Poker is one of the larger online poker companies that still accepts
US players, and the site has released a new statement concerning the issue that
some players are having with their poker accounts. The “Quick Deposit” option, a
payment process that involves using the previously named eChecks, is still
viable for many US players. That is the crux of the current dilemma, some US
banks are lumping Full Tilt transactions with the online casinos, while others
have allowed this “Quick Deposit” option to remain for now. This method, if it
works for a player, is one of the fastest ways in the world for players to
transfer money to and from their online poker player accounts – and Full Tilt’s
release notes that it is still incredibly effective for those players at a bank
that still processes Full Tilt transactions.
Online casino gamblers in the US have known for quite some time now that the
full blocks and bans on internet transactions were imminent but the extent of
the blocks and success has been unknown until the enforcement regulations took
full effect on June 1, 2010. Now all of the online gambling sites are
encountering issues with their various payment processing systems. |
