New Countries Entering Online Casino Market
The economic recession that hit the world two years ago is still having a
lasting effect on dozens of countries and the online casinos are seen as a
viable way for these countries to create a viable income that can boost the
revenue funding the state budget. Although this is a process that has been
talked a lot about in the United States the Eastern European market is actually
now really beginning to open up to the idea of online casino gambling. And it’s
not the countries that you may have thought! Although there is a lot of talk in
the market right now about blocks and bans in Poland and Czech, it’s some of the
smaller countries that are now open to the internet gambling industry. Both
Romania and Moldova have apparently announced that they are considering
legalizing and regulating the industry.
Both of these countries are in a definite need for tax revenues and the online
casinos provide a really clear opportunity for this to happen – it’s easy and it
has been done effectively by a lot of other neighboring countries. The first
news of the potential launch of online casinos into Romania and Moldova came
from Mediafax, a publication in the region that got this information from the
office of the Finance Ministry of Romania. Romania is suffering from a slow
economy, job losses and a lack of any new money and jobs. The Finance Ministry
is actually looking at merely gaining a little bit of kickback from the online
casino gambling that is already happening in the country.
Euro 500 million is already being wagered in the country and more regulation and
taxation would significantly boost the money coming into the state. The
government has already seen this benefit illustrated by the increases last year
and the new talks would take a much more deliberate taxation look at remote and
foreign online casinos accessing the gamblers in the state. |
