New Mediums a Hit
Ladbrokes has made some pretty interesting announcements this month in terms of
betting and wagering statistics. With the World Cup games coming to a close this
month the information on betting patterns is already rolling in – and even the
most observant analysts will be surprised by the way the betting stats came out.
New mediums within the online casino gambling industry are apparently all of the
rage right now as Ladbrokes announced that mobile betting in particular hit
record highs. The World Cup games in general generated an unprecedented level of
interest and media attention all over the world and this level of excitement and
interest extended well into the betting industry.
Ladbrokes is one of the oldest and longest running bookmakers in the UK and the
company was thus at the forefront of a lot of the land and online casino betting
activity that took place in the UK over the past several weeks. In addition to
land and internet betting though, Ladbrokes announced that the company took in
four times more mobile bets this year on World Cup betting than in the whole 200
year of European football. This figure is incredible and really highlights the
fact that internet gamblers are embracing new mediums at an incredibly fast
rate. Additionally, Ladbroke’s internet betting figures were enhanced by the
company’s brand new iPhone betting app that launched just in time for all of the
World Cup games this year.
Just a couple of years ago the mobile gambling industry was still very much in
its infancy. Although there were mobile online casinos, they were small and the
selection of games was incredibly limited. Now though the industry has
flourished and chance games are just one of the many types of mobile games
available – internet betting, bingo, and fun-play are all parts of the
flourishing mobile gambling market. |
