Seeking Illegal Online Casinos

The Belize government got quite a shock last month when the Israeli government announced the busting of an online casino gambling ring that was illegally operating in the country and claiming to hold a license to operate out of Belize. Belize is actually not very active in the international gambling industry and only licenses two online casinos to operate in the market. That is quite to the contrary of some unscrupulous internet gambling business though that claim a Belize license as a way to fly under the radar and trick internet gamblers into using the services.

The Israeli government arrested a large gambling ring that ran full gambling operations within the Israeli market, but when the authorities questioned members of the company, the gambling ring claimed licensing out of Belize. Once that was proven false a deeper investigation revealed that the online casino gambling ring was actually running off of servers located in Estonia. So although this conundrum was solved, the Belize government is concerned that other gambling groups are also falsely claiming licensing out of Belize.

That’s why the Belize government and officials are now on the hunt for online casinos and gambling groups that are operating within the market under a fake Belize license. This entire situation casts a negative shadow on the Belize gambling authorities, one that while undeserved, is there nonetheless and not likely to shift any time soon. The authorities are also asking the international community at large to help the authorities in tracking down illegal gambling sites by reporting any gambling company that claims Belize licensing – only two companies actually have Belize licensing.
