Land Gambling Profiting
The land gambling industry around the world has really hit some tough times over
the past several years as the rise of the online casino industry meant strong
competition. For the United States though, the ban three years ago on offshore
online casinos accessing the US market managed to curb a bit of the damage and
bring some business back to the land gambling venues. Macau though, which is the
Las Vegas of the East, has maintained some pretty steady profits despite the
rise in internet gambling, but nothing to write home about really – at least not
until the New Year hit in full force. The Macau gambling industry has already
begun to see a strong rise in revenues and even interest in the Macau industry
over the past several weeks.
Information coming out of the Macau casino industry gambling indicates that the
global investors and general “powers that be” have shown an increased interest
in the Macau gambling industry, which has been reflected in share prices at that
gambling companies. Online casinos are still largely illegal in most of Asia,
and particularly in China, so a strong land gambling like the one developing in
Macau is certainly of interest as a leisure spot for vacationing Chinese
citizens. Revenues were just skyrocketing by the close of 2009 and into the New
Year. Stats indicate that Macau revenues from casinos rose a very significant 48
percent within December.
Individual land casinos operating out of Macau were pleased to announce that
their business are really gaining momentum at the start of 2010 and the
companies believe that this enthusiasm for land gambling will carry over into
the rest of the year. |
