Predictions 2010: UK Edition
The New Year is already off to a strong start as the UK government is currently
considering new regulations for the country that respond to the demands for a
new tax and regulation structure that gives online casinos some sort of benefit
for licensing and operating out of the UK. In 2010, there is every likelihood
that these new regulations will pass by the end of the year – and that could
very well mean that several of the major online casino gambling groups
threatening to leave the market may very well stay a bit longer. This is really
the key issue plaguing the UK this year; the government is recovering from the
economic recession, but can really not handle the long-term effects that mass
evacuation of gambling companies will have on the country’s bottom line.
The new UK government’s latest plans to adjust the online casino gambling
regulations have been met with intense criticism from the gambling companies
themselves, but this is a first attempt and there is every reason to believe
that the UK government will continue to tweak the regulations as needed to
better accommodate the growing UK gambling industry. On that front, online
casinos are set to continue steady growth throughout the UK market and
throughout the year. Every sector of the UK gambling industry is experiencing
growth and there is no indication that this growth will slow down at all in
2010.
The main concern for the UK right now seems to be a focus on bettering the
current system. The United Kingdom is lauded within the online casino gambling
industry for maintaining the most advanced internet gambling regulatory system
in the world – and new adjustments to regulations will work to further this
status and further the country’s ability to effectively manage the internet
gambling companies. |
