Playing for Charities
The concept of playing poker for charity and in support of very specific
organizations is nothing new in the market – in fact, it’s a straight out trend
that has taken over a lot of the poker gambling industry. The online casinos and
internet poker gambling industries generate a lot of interest and a lot of money
– it’s a logical connection to link the gambling industry with the charities
that are in need up not only support, but awareness as well. Most notable in the
poker gambling industry are huge charity events like the Ante Up for Africa
event supported and run by Annie Duke and Don Cheadle. The newest announcement
out of the land and online casino poker gambling industries are implications
that Elizabeth Bennett-Martin is looking to play her poker game with charity in
Cambodia in mind.
More specifically, Bennett-Martin is playing her poker game at the PokerStars
Caribbean Adventure with the Cambodian Legal Education for Women project as the
beneficiary should Bennett-Martin take home big winnings from the land and
online casino poker gambling tourney. The tourney is absolutely huge and there
will be a lot of talent out at the event to compete. For Bennett-Martin, it’s
more than just a win for her, it’s a way for her to show her support for this
organization through her commitment to donate a significant portion of the win
to the Cambodian organization.
Bennett-Martin, a Toronto land and online casino poker player, feels like the
focus of this legal education fund has very real value and potential, and she
couldn’t have chosen a much larger venue to air her intentions and support for
the charity. PokerStars is the largest internet poker gambling site in the
industry and the company expects an impressive turnout of skill and competition
at the Caribbean Adventure. |
