Betting on Palin Begins
Two years ago it is pretty doubtful that Sarah Palin had any idea what her life
would be like right now – and I am willing to bet that there would be some
changes she would have made if she could do it all over again thanks to the
brutal US online and traditional media. Palin is back in the international news
these days as she takes over her job as an analyst of Fox News. Fox is an
undoubtedly Republican biased news site in the United States, and the
announcement that Palin was taking an on-air job on the show is incredibly
surprising and has sparked betting at the online casinos and land betting
venues. In fact, how could it not!
Palin made some pretty significant off-the-cuff bloopers during her run for the
Vice-Presidency with John McCain and is not widely lauded for her public
speaking abilities. So it begs the question, why did Fox put her in a very
public and very unscripted position as a televised analyst for the station? The
online casino bettors in the US haven’t placed very high odds on Palin’s ability
to keep her job actually, that’s how little faith the US public has in her – the
potential (and let’s hope not) leader of the US in 2016 (yes, she is being
primed for this according to news sources). The online casinos don’t have faith
either and the odds are in favor of her losing the position.
The real trick those as online casino bettors place their odds on her
performance on the show, is just how long she will have the job before she loses
the position. Paddy Powers reasoning for some of the long odds center on the
fact that Palin is “gaffe prone” – well that’s a polite way to make up for her
shortcomings. It should be an interesting year, and who knows, Palin could
really come out of left-field and sound intelligent in her new position at Fox. |
