Monitoring the Online Casinos
Gambling sites are licensed for the global gambling industry through a number of
remote licensing jurisdictions. It just so happens that most of the more
prominent gambling jurisdictions operate out of smaller islands or remote areas
of larger nations – but that is not wholly the case. These licensing
jurisdictions are actually in competition with one another because the highly
reputable licensing jurisdictions have higher standards and, in some cases, are
allowed more access to advertising and influence in international markets. The
Kahnawake Gaming Commission operates out of the Mohawk Territory in Quebec and
previously encountered some serious issues with several of the online casino and
poker gambling companies licensed out of the country.
In essence, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission has never fully recovered from the
Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker gambling scandals. The licensing jurisdiction
actually licenses a huge number of the international sites operating in the
market, and in a move to boost the reputation of the sites licensed out of the
jurisdiction, the Commission announced it had employed eCOGRA to assess and
monitor all of the online casinos licensed and operating out of the
jurisdiction. eCOGRA is one of the top player advocacy groups in the global
online casino gambling industry so its actually quite significant that it has
agreed to work with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
The new program launching with called the Continual Compliance Program and will
take effect immediately. With the assistance of eCOGRA, all licensed sites in
the jurisdiction will face an annual review of policies and procedures. This new
program really indicates that the Commission is making a clear and strong effort
to provide the global online casino gambling industry with safe and fair gaming. |
