Online Casinos Still Linked to Losses
Australian employees all over the country have joined the fearful talks and
spread of information that indicates that the plan to regulate certain sectors
of the online casino gambling industry will spell rampant job losses for
Aussies. Several land betting companies out of New South Wales began the fearful
spread of this information, and it has only continued over the past several
weeks. The thrust of the information indicates that the legalization of online
casinos will create too competitive of a betting and gambling environment for
land based companies and they will be forced to layoff employees in response.
Does this doomsday plan seem just a tad overly fearful? The Australian
government is only making the choice to regulate the online casinos and gambling
industry because it’s nearly impossible to effectively block. But to be clear,
online casino gambling IS already happening in the Aussie market no matter what
the government has passed or is considering. The planned liberalization of the
market is in response to the fact that internet gambling is inevitable. That
means that the land gambling companies are going to have to face the online
gambling industry at some point in the very near future, and the Aussie
government is really hoping that liberalization of the market will mean more
control over the market to safeguard Aussies.
And beyond the fact that the online casinos are inevitable in the Australian
market and the gambling companies should stop their ballyhooing, there are
conflicting reports about these claimed job losses. Although some gamblers will
gamble less at the land establishments, to be sure, the UK market still has very
strong land *and* internet betting. |
