Online Casino Shifts Inevitable
It’s happening all over the world and couldn’t be more evident at this time in
history, the online casinos are a virtually unstoppable force. It may seem a
little bit dramatic to say that the gambling industry is here to stay and
resistance is futile, but it’s the truth. They aren’t going anywhere and
international governments have finally begun to realize that the only effective
way to control the international gambling industry is to license and regulate.
That has sunk in for a lot of governments, and changes are currently in the
works. But then you also have the handful of powerful governments that simply
refuse to admit defeat when it is handed to them – most namely China and the
United States.
These two countries have some of the most restrictive and ineffective online
casino gambling laws in the world. The biggest issue comes from the fact that
banning and blocking gambling just hasn’t worked. Not on any level in the US,
and to very limited effect in China. China’s blocks on online casinos have a leg
up on the US government because China already filters out internet content. In
the United States though, censorship is a hot issue and the government cannot
use the same types of internet filtering to block online casinos. What that
means, is that internet gambling is still happening, but simply without
oversight and regulations.
Nations like South Africa and even Australia have seen the light though, and
announced that the governments plan to liberalize their gambling markets in an
effort to better control the online casino gambling industry. This has proven
incredibly effective throughout the UK and Europe for curbing exploitation and
illegal gambling activities. |
