Loving the Connection Speeds
The whole world seems to be heading to the online casinos and just the
world of the internet in general. The dot.com boom took off more than a decade
ago, but the internet is now truly reaching all the corners of the globe thanks
to increases in technology. The Isle of Man is not thought of as one of the more
developing countries, perhaps because the island is a licensing jurisdiction for
some of the most prestigious online casinos in the world. But in actuality, the
Isle of Man had some real progress to make, and the country has begun to make
those strong step forward in connectivity thanks to the hard work of Manx
Telecom. Manx announced that internet broadband connection speeds on the island
have more than quadrupled now and that this should really have a positive effect
on the willingness of new companies to consider licensing in the Isle of Man.
The technology behind this new boost in connection power will lower the
bandwidth costs for online casinos and business operating out of the Isle of
Man, but doing the vast majority of their business overseas. Manx announced that
these bold steps include international data hubs and four fiber optic circuits
that will allow the island better connection speeds with the UK and Ireland in
particular. And as these changes become more mainstream, it’s anticipated that a
large number of UK and foreign online casino sites will be more likely to
conduct their business from the Isle of Man.
The cut in bandwidth costs are across the board and indicate a huge step forward
in the type of technology that is being used to bring online casinos and
gambling sites to the world. Manx Telecom has made a very strong name for itself
lately because the company was also chosen by Poker Stars (a leader in the
internet poker gambling industry) to hosts the company’s last major tourney. |
