Online Casino Sites in Thailand
Gambling at the online casinos around the world is one of those iffy questions –
laws in every country are different and it can get pretty confusing. The Asian
market is particularly confusing for a lot of gamblers and gambling companies
even because of the wildly diverse gaming laws that are in effect in each and
every country. Thailand is one of the countries that has not yet fully embraced
the online casino gambling industry and the government is fighting strongly
against the influx of illegal internet gambling groups. The Prime Minister of
Thailand though is on shaky ground with many gambling aficionados in Thailand
because of his announced plan to dismantle the current internet gambling
industry.
One of PM Abhisit Vejjajiva’s key concerns is the online lottery system in the
country. Internet lottery games are already in place throughout the country and
the government has to tread carefully on new legislation that would alter the
current internet gambling initiatives, initiatives that actually have a fair
amount of support in Thailand. Vejjajiva is specifically looking for aw ay to
transition the country away from online casinos and the internet lottery without
a lot of upset and political turmoil, so that’s a project he’s currently working
on with other politicians.
Objections have been quick to arise in Thailand because of a pervasive fear that
banning the internet lottery will have a negative affect on the country similar
to what the US has experienced with its ban on foreign online casinos.
Specifically, many politicians note that stopping legal internet lotteries will
lead to an underground black market that has many more potential dangers. |
