Payment Processor Down a Bit
The UC Group has fully processed its 2008 profits and the results are not as
positive as one could have hoped – pre-tax profits were down a significant 30
percent from the previous year. UC Group is a payment processing and ancillary
technology company that really sets the bar high in the global market and also
has some pretty significant additions to the marketplace that other companies
just have cornered yet. That being said, the loss of the US market several years
ago was a huge hit for a lot of online casinos and associated companies. Any
thoughts that the payment processing companies had of staying in the market
illegally were squashed when the NETeller debacle went down.
As for the UC Group, the company has since spent millions of dollars lobbying
for new, more liberalized gambling legislation in the United States that
legalizes and licenses offshore online casinos. More specifically though, UC
Group develops alternative payment processing technologies that allow the
gambling companies to more securely process funds and flag money laundering and
other fraudulent transactions. In fact, the UC Group’s anti-money laundering
technologies are one of the hallmark features of the company’s payment
processing system that is well appreciated by the online casino sites using this
payment services company.
UC Group offers a range of important services that are integral to the back-end
processing of transactions between online casinos and prospective gamblers. The
group’s low performance is a result of US market restrictions and that’s why the
group spent a whopping US $1.48 million last year lobbying the government for
more liberal gaming policies. |
