Asking for Online Casinos
Land gambling companies in Canada are looking to the online casino gambling
industry as a prime opportunity for the companies to expand their current
operations and include more opportunities to bring in revenue. The most recent
situation indicates that Loto-Quebec, a Canadian land gambling group, has asked
the state government to consider the online casinos as a way for land gambling
venues to keep their existing land venue workforce while remaining profitable.
Alain Cousineau is the current CEO of Loto Quebec and he spoke late last year to
the Montreal Board of Trade about the changes in the land gambling market that
have necessitated that the land gambling companies consider the internet
gambling industry as a viable opportunity to stay profitable in the current
economic climate.
Even more pointedly though, Cousineau went on to elaborate on why the changes in
online casino gambling laws are incredibly necessary. The land gambling industry
is changing rapidly and there is less and less money being made in comparison to
the rising costs of doing business that the land venues are forced to weather.
And by that it means specifically that the land venues are trying to provide the
same level of service to their patrons but the profit margin is steadily
decreasing – and without intervention of some sort that could mean losses for
the land venues. Cousineau feels that the introduction of types of online casino
gambling offered through the land gambling group would nicely offset the costs.
Cousineau has asked the Board to legalize everything from internet sports
betting to bingo and even an online lottery. These additions to the gambling
group’s revenue stream would make a huge difference in maintaining profitability
and ensuring fewer job losses at the land gaming venues. |
