Stats for Online Casinos
A new research study out of the UK has just been released and the results have
been synthesized and are now widely presented by the international online casino
gambling industry. The UK Commission commissioned a study by ICM Research to
measure the level of participation that UK citizens have in all forms of
gambling – from the online casinos and remote gambling to land and lottery
gambling. The results are generally right in line with what was expected by the
industry and actually have not had any sort of negative effect on the gambling
industry.
Often, when the UK Gambling Commission issues a study, the resulting statistics
are a new reason for anti-online casino gambling groups to further publicly
lambaste the industry and point fingers. In this case, the research was a fact
finding mission on more than 7,000 citizens to look at the rates of gambling in
the UK as well as the breakdown as to who is participating in which types of
gambling. There are online casinos with a primarily male demographic and bingo
appealing to the females – and through it all, the national lottery is intensely
popular.
The stats actually really vindicate the online casino gambling industry because
they indicate that the main number of growth over the past year (and two
actually) is largely as a result of the National Lottery. Although remote
gambling is popular, it is no where near as popular as the National Lottery has
proven – an really interesting point that internet gambling critics fail to
mention.
