This One's For the High Rollers
A new poker tour is hitting North America, a poker tour that is designed to give
all of the land and online casino poker enthusiasts the chance to actively
participate in some high stakes poker action right in their own region of North
America. There are a whole lot of European poker tours, and even an Asian Poker
Tour that has received a lot of positive feedback, but the North American Poker
Tour is a bit of a first. Always pioneers in the poker and online casinos,
PokerStars is the sponsor of this year’s poker tour that will kick off and then
tour around to key spots all over the US and Canada. US poker players don’t have
a lot longer to plan their attendance at the Las Vegas event because it starts
just next week, on February 23, 2010.
The big news for the Las Vegas Tournament is a High Roller Bounty Shootout – a
tourney that will really attract a whole lot of amateur and online casino poker
pros because of the huge potential for big money from this particular type of
tourney. The tournament is scheduled to take place over two days and there will
be a bounty on the heads of all of the players participating. In the true nature
of the game, players can only progress by winning their games and heading to the
next round – and the more players you knock out, the bigger your own bounty
grows.
Bounty tourneys are a really fun way for the online casinos and poker
tournaments to offer a more interactive game with a whole other competitive
element to attract the players and generate some fun interest in what it going
on. This new format is a test of sorts to the NAPT; the more traditional games
of standard Omaha and no-limit Hold’em are just one aspect to the game, there
are other poker styles that players love and PokerStars is testing the waters
with the high roller bounty style tourney. |
