Online Casino Sites Have Cash
The online casino and poker gambling industry is stronger than ever this year in
the United States market. The US still has a ban in place against foreign
gambling sites accessing US players, and the US Department of Justice even has a
few sites running scared because of arbitrary enforcement efforts, but the key
to the whole situation was the approved postponement of the implementation of
the enforcement regulations for the UIGEA. Although the UIGEA is in place, the
act does not really have any teeth for enforcement and that means that a handful
of key online casinos have continued to operate in the market. This situation
though sets the foundation for the huge lobbying efforts that are taking place
this year in the poker industry in particular.
The poker and online casino gambling industries are dead set on getting at least
poker legalized in the US by the end of the year and the industries have the
cash to really back up these lobbying efforts. That’s a huge boon to the online
casinos and poker sites in furthering the cause in Congress, because money talks
in US politics still and the amount of money that the industry is planning to
dump into lobbying efforts in the US is pretty disgustingly huge.
The movement to legalize online casinos in the US has gained a lot of strength
over the past several years and those Congressional efforts are primarily led by
Congressman Barney Frank. Frank is the key politician supporting the
legalization of the internet gambling, and on the backside of the equation, as
Frank pushes for an increased understanding of gambling laws in the US, the
lobbyists and gambling companies push literature and agendas from the other side
– all with the aim of creating a more open and legalized US internet gambling
industry. |
