Marketing Taking Precedence
The Rank gambling group is a prominent UK based land and online casino gambling
group that is growing rapidly within the market and also looking to redefine the
brand and product in the coming months. The company recently released the
earnings report for the first half of the year and some of the results have been
alarming for Rank investors concerned about the fact that operating profit for
the group has declined a significant 23 percent from the first half of 2009. On
a brighter note though was the company’s 10 percent increase in revenues for the
Rank Group throughout the first half of the year. The company is still growing
strong within the land and online casino gambling industry and the Rank
management attributes the loss in operating profits to a huge surge in marketing
and product development throughout the past six months.
Innovations are really one of the key components that give online casinos and
gambling groups the edge within the market and the Rank Group placed an emphasis
on developing new products not only for it’s key market in the UK, but for the
company’s launch into the Spanish and Italian markets as well. Both of these
niche markets represent quite different interests than the UK and English based
online casino sites that the Rank Group currently operates so the development
team at Rank is looking for innovative new products and launch strategies that
will give Rank a competitive advantage in both of these emerging e-gaming
markets.
As Rank really focused the company’s marketing efforts within the bingo and
online casino gambling divisions there was a distinctly negative effect on the
Rank Group’s sports betting division as well as internet poker interests. Both
of these divisions reported lower revenues over this same period last year. |
