Criminal Wants to Play Poker
An avid online casino poker player found that his poker playing habit actually
landed him back in jail because he taunted authorities and flaunted his desire
to engage in an internet poker game with his friends even though he was evading
the police. Australian online casino poker player Justin Grant escaped police
custody from the Townsville Hospital last month—and though he was smart enough
to get out of police custody he didn’t remain on the run for long because he
consistently felt the need to update his Facebook account and attempted to set
up online casino poker games with his friends.
The police used his consistent internet use as a way to track him down and
pinpoint his location. Everything online is trackable these days and Grant
showed that he just wasn’t too sharp when he told police through these updates
clues about his location and where he wanted to host the poker game. His antics
through Facebook about online casino poker play led to a rapid re-arrest within
just days of escaping the authorities.
Online casinos and internet poker are illegal in Australia but that did not stop
this petty criminal from not only attempting to circumvent restrictions but
flaunting love for poker play to the authorities. Other poker players in a
similar situation would be wise to use a little common sense and give up that
want for a land based game of poker if it means authorities are going to have a
clear bead on where you’re hanging out! |
