Online Casino Industry Layout
The online casino gambling industry has been in development over the past more
than ten years at this point. The first years of internet gambling were a gray
zone of questionable legality because the internet was still a new phenomenon at
the end of the 90s. As this past decade progressed, however, the potential and
inevitability of the online casinos as a part of internet culture around the
world set in with the gamblers and with national governments. The early years of
internet gambling were highly unregulated and there were only and handful of
sites servicing the small but growing market. Then entered the toddler years
when more companies entered the game and the number of internet gambling sites
began to blossom – this is really when the industry diversity began.
Although the first internet gambling sites in the market were the online casinos
and internet poker, the term internet gambling has now spread as a blanket
definition for a huge range of gambling activities that take place all over the
world. From those original two markets there are now niche sectors within the
internet gambling industry that are micro-industries in their own right. These
various sectors make up a very dynamic industry that now includes internet
bingo, mobile gambling, skill games, betting, live dealer gaming, and a slew of
other small niches that compliment the original online casino sites and internet
poker.
What compounds this even further are the niches within a sector. Within the
online casino gambling industry there are sites focused only on slots, some for
the 3D gaming enthusiasts, the virtual card games, and other narrow focuses that
contribute to a flowing and dynamic layout within the industry. |
