Paddy Power COO
Paddy Power PLC — an internet and land-based gambling group that provides sports
betting, online casino, and financial spreading services primarily in Ireland
and the United Kingdom —has recently appointed its new Chief Operating Officer
(COO), Breon Corcoran. He will be in charge of manning several aspects of Paddy
Power’s key operations including its overall services for online casinos and
other games. Mr. Corcoran joined Paddy Power PLC in the first quarter of 2001,
which marked his role in overseeing the non-retail business’s developments. In
2006, the scope of his responsibilities expanded further to new business
strategies, acquisitions, and development; and in 2004, he was finally appointed
as a member of the Board; he was also involved in the company’s expansion into
Australia.
Corcoran is faced with more challenging tasks and added obligations because of
his newly-appointed role as Paddy Power’s Chief Operating Officer. He will
continuously retain his responsibilities on Paddy Power’s online casino services
and its overall internet businesses and is now also responsible for overseeing
the company’s expansion of its online casinos and other gambling services,
operations, and other development opportunities. However, with his significant
promotion as COO, he will further assume new responsibility, in addition to his
above-mentioned duties, for the Paddy Power’s technology and group human
resources function.
Corcoran is a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin, has an MBA from INSEAD, and
was formerly part of the J.P. Morgan and Bankers Trust. With his proven
credibility, excellent background and good service record to Paddy Power, a key
provider of various gaming services in online casinos and other sites, the
company has likely appointed a credible and qualified man for such a challenging
position. |
