Winners Get a Tourney
The World Series of Poker is already starting to take over the headlines and the
focus of the land and online casino poker industries, but before this year’s
WSOP, the Tournament of Champions is a special event that is only held for past
WSOP champion winners. The WSOP is incredibly prestigious and winning a WSOP
event is a major coup and skyrockets the winner into legend status in the poker
industry. In addition to the main winner, who takes home the big prize and the
title of WSOP champion, there are also players winning bracelets in the event at
the smaller 57 events of the WSOP. These winners include poker gamblers from the
online casinos, pros, and celebrities and it is through these winners that the
$1 Million Tournament of Champions Freeroll is formed.
The Tournament of Champions is the place where only the elite from the land and
online casino poker gambling industries face off – and this is also the perfect
opportunity for the more philanthropic players to show charitable side by
pledging to donate their winnings. In fact, former WSOP champion Marty Smyth has
already pledged to donate winnings and freeroll winnings directly to two key
hospitals in Ireland: Our Lady’s Children Hospital in Dublin and the Royal
Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Participation in the event, beyond just former WSOP champions is up for vote
from the public. The enthusiastic poker players from the land and online casinos
will decide which of the poker pros will land one of the 27 coveted seats at
this year’s highly anticipated Tournament of the Champions. |
