Wanting Online Casinos
Last month’s research study conducted and released by Ipsos Reid shed some new
and interesting light on the state of online casino gambling in North America.
The study looked at the perceptions that residents of both Canada and the US
have toward internet gambling and how well residents of both countries actually
understand the legalities and regulations present within their country. The
results show that gamblers are unclear – they just don’t know where the law
stands when it comes to online casinos…but research also indicates that
residents are, by and large, in favor of government control over the gambling
industry regulations.
The North American policies right now are not effective. The Canadian government
refuses to fully weigh in with new legislation and the US federal government has
passed controversial and confusing regulations that do nothing to actually
clarify the US gambling industry. The thing is, North Americans just want some
clear leadership where the online casinos are concerned. Banning the industry is
never going to work, and yet the US government continues to invest time and
money in enforcement regulations that are not effective.
The online casino gambling industry responds incredibly well to clear and
forthright regulation and legislation; this is evidenced by the working system
in the UK in particular, as well as several European nations that have fully
embraced a regulated internet gambling industry. North Americans are tired of
the games and misleading policies and are increasingly demanding a comprehensive
and immediate solution to the online gambling problems that have plagued the
countries. |
