French Media Companies
The French media industry is in for some massive changes in the coming months as
the planned French online casino gambling and betting regulations take effect.
The French government has been talking about passing new regulations for more
than a year now – the regulations have been drafted, revised, approved, revised
again, and are currently in the final phase of the approval process – the
European Commission. The European Commission now has the more liberal French
regulations and is expected to sign off on the new policies by the end of the
month. Once that happens, the foreign online casinos entering the market will be
looking for ways to advertise to the newly liberalized French market – and that
means incredible new streams of revenue for these companies.
Several of the largest French media companies have already begun to secure media
advertising deals with the biggest names in the online casino gambling industry
in anticipation that these companies will obtain official French licensing soon
after the new regulations take hold. Ladbrokes, one of the biggest names in the
betting industry in the UK announced a partnership agreement with Channel CANAL+
while Mangas Gaming, a French company in itself, scored a major coup by signing
with the Metropole 6 Group, allegedly the top watched network in France. Other
online casinos and gambling groups are firming up their agreements and now
merely waiting the last few weeks it will take before the French internet
gambling industry becomes fully legal to licensed foreign gaming companies.
The new advertising and media deals encompass all of the more traditional forms
of media so that the new online casinos and gambling companies will have the
ability to launch immediately into the market and rapidly secure a part of the
lucrative French market. |
