Bias for New Online Casino Tool
Last week’s announcement that Svenska Spel, the Swedish land and online casino
state gambling monopoly, had finalized the contract and deal with ICU
Intelligence for all rights to the Playscan AB subsidiary was not very
surprising, but still a major coup for the company. Svenska Spel, ICU and the
Swedish Gaming Institute have all cooperatively researched and worked on this
project for more than 25 years. The technology and research data was used by
Playscan though to develop a tool that utilized all of the relevant information
and research data to allow internet gamblers better monitoring and control over
their gambling behavior.
The Playscan software in particular is designed to identify problematic behavior
in online casino game play. The software and algorithms are designed to properly
monitor wagering patterns, games, and bankrolls to accurately identify when
these patterns change and when gamblers are beginning to display problem
gambling characteristics. A further feature of the Playscan responsible gaming
software are the tools built into the software that then recommend certain paths
and behaviors for the online casino gambler in question.
The information is no longer generic, but very targeted to behaviors that
individual gamblers have displayed at the online casinos. Playscan has developed
a powerful tool already, and as a soon-to-be subsidiary of Svenska Spel, the
responsible gaming software will be even further developed before a more
widespread release into the global market. There is no details on a timeline
yet, but Svenska Spel anticipates this software will be a huge hit in the
market. |
