Seemingly Compliant
The European Union seems to have concluded that the French government is making
an honest attempt to create a free and open online casino gambling market that
accepts outside competition as a part of the market. The French regulations have
been in development for many months now but they are still a work in progress.
One of the biggest testaments to France’s stance on the foreign online casinos
seems to be the fact that the government has responded to requests for change on
certain areas of the regulation from the EU and from the internet gambling and
betting companies. The French government is willing to collaborate on the
regulations prior to implementation.
The European Union has really begun to crack down on the EU member-states that
are not compliant with free trade policies in the EU and are manifesting that
defiance through online casino gambling monopolies and banning legislation. The
European Commission has been working on this issue for several years now but
only once the EU began to threat legal action from the European Court of Justice
have the countries in question really begun to comply.
The fact that the French government is actively working on these online casino
gambling regulations is the key indication that the EU has needed to lay off a
little. At this point the process is a bit bureaucratic and the regulations are
undergoing a lot of different changes before all sides, the EU to the foreign
online casinos, and the French politicians will fully approve of the
regulations. |
