New Brands in Nordic Market

The Nordic online casino gambling market is still small but growing because of restrictions and blocks that are in place to protect state monopolies throughout Scandinavia. There is, however, a growing trend toward the internet in some of the smaller sectors of the internet gambling market and NeoGames and Nordic Entertainment have announced a new partnership deal that will see these two companies jointly launching a new online scratch card game into the Nordic market. The online casinos may not launch heavily into this market yet, but there is definitely a growing trend for niche sectors to crop up and begin offering new games. The Norwegian market is now seeing one new gaming site with targeted scratch cards and internet entertainment.

Sweden is a controversial area for the online casinos because of a state monopoly and an aggressive Swedish government that is looking to keep the monopoly in control of the market. State monopolies are really bad for the viability of other European gaming companies that are looking for an open and competitive market. At the same time though, although Sweden is still adamant about its state monopolies and restrictive online casino gambling regulations, it is nearly impossible for any country in the world to completely and effectively block the internet gambling industry.

The two companies, NeoGames and Nordic Entertainment have planned to extend the reach of the unique online scratch games into the Nordic market. This niche sector of the internet casino industry is greatly untapped in most of Europe and this partnership will bring “appealing games” to the region according to Michael Labrecque, the CEO at NeoGames.
