Your Mom was Right
Did your mom ever tell you that if it seems too good to be true that it probably
is? Well, mom was a pretty smart lady and that advice can be passed onto the
land and online casino gamblers all over the US who are looking for ways to
gamble but want to avoid the authorities and the US federal level restrictions.
Sites and companies that promise that they have found a highly effective way to
offer illegal gambling in a legal capacity, it very well may be too good to be
true. Since the UIGEA came into effect nearly three years ago there has been a
whole lot of startups and new businesses operating in the market under the
assumption that they have found a way to operate just on this side of the law.
But the law has not agreed with a majority of these companies – from online
casinos to land gambling operators, they have been busted by local and national
authorities for disregarding gambling laws. The latest situation cropping up all
over the US are internet cafes that are selling time units as a way to allow
gamblers to come into the café and essentially gamble online for time units that
they have bought for cash. Then, rewards are paid out from the cafés in more
time units.
The part the authorities take issue with is the fact that that the gamblers are
able to then trade in the time units for cold hard cash. The time units are just
acting as a place holder for actual cash and this easily translates into
gambling according to the authorities. Online casinos and unlicensed land
gambling operators are illegal and the authorities all of the US are combating
this growing problem. |
