Land Casinos Interested

The land gambling industry in the United States has done a lot of complaining over the past several years as the recession hit and the online casinos forced a lot of extra competition into the market. The land gambling companies have mixed feelings toward the internet gambling industry because of a perceived threat from the gaming sites against the business coming to the land gambling venues. But just because the brick and mortar venues are complaining about the online casinos, that does not mean that the land gambling companies are not still quite successful. The latest news indicates that the bidding is back in process for the Aqueduct Race Track casino and betting site since Delaware North, the company that had previously won the bidding contest, has been unable to actually finance the process.

The Aqueduct Race Track, located in New York, has been approved for the new land casino and betting location as a way to help build back up the horse racing industry, as well as a way to bring in additional tax revenue from the land gambling industry. That is the key part of the decision to bring more land gambling to the state. Although there are taxes going into place, the gamblers are paying the fees and that money will be large used to fund more government projects and increase the purse size of some of the major land horse races.

There is a lot of potential for growth in this market because it is still really quite difficult for a lot foreign online casinos and internet betting sites to access the more niche markets. In that case, the gamblers go to the race tracks and place their bets. All of the major companies are vying for a piece of this market, and they include the management companies of Harrah’s, MGM Mirage, Penn National Gaming, and several other sites.
