Israeli Online Casino Activity Illegal

The Israeli Police are cracking down on illegal online casino gambling in the country and this has led to the arrest of several individuals who allegedly operate an internet gaming company out of Tel Aviv that illegally offers internet gambling services to Israeli gamblers. Israeli has laws in place that specifically prohibit companies from offering any sort of internet gambling to Israelis. The company in question operates online casinos out of the country but the discrepancy comes down to whether or not the company was allowing Israeli gamblers to take part in the gambling site.

Those arrested are facing money laundering charges for their part in allegedly offering online casino gambling to Israeli gamblers. That is the crux of the dilemma right now – proving that the company did not break the law and that the gambling services are not targeted toward Israelis. The defence attorneys for those arrested have asked the prosecution and the judge to specify just what the company did that was illegal. There are many online casinos operating out of Israeli, by Israelis, and they are considered to be operating inside of the law.

The case in question though has a few holes according to the defendants considering they operate a legal online casino gambling site that only accepts foreign gamblers. At this point even the judge has acknowledged that those arrested are operating a business quite similar to other internet gambling businesses owned and operated out of Israel. The judge has acknowledged that he and the prosecution will have to closely examine international law to determine the outcome of the case and the legality of hosting servers and online gambling businesses out of Israel.
