Do it for Healthcare
The healthcare debate is heating up in the United States and the online casino
gambling industry is finally getting itself heard in the government. Obama’s
healthcare plan is going to many billions annually to fund and implement and one
of the biggest detracting arguments for the new healthcare plan has always been
the issue of where the money was going to come from to actually fund these
reforms. The Obama administration has now been tasked with finding the sources
of funding for all of these campaign promises that he is attempting to make good
on. The online casinos are now taking centre stage in the Congressional
discussions as the proposal to legalize and regulate the gambling industry
specifically to fund healthcare reform gains momentum.
The healthcare system that Obama has proposed would really bump up the level of
care in the United States so that everyone would have access to healthcare
rather than the expensive system in place now that has a large number of
children, young adults and the elderly either without any form of healthcare, or
they are have ineffective and insufficient healthcare. The online casinos are
being leveraged as a partial solution to the current funding issue. According to
estimates from PricewaterhouseCoopers the gambling industry could pay for as
much as 7.5 percent of the overall cost of implementing the new healthcare
reform. That is a very significant funding source and the US Senate Finance
Committee is seriously considering the advantages to using online casino
gambling taxation funds in this way.
As for the online casinos and internet poker sites? Well they are still watching
the developments in the US government and the internet poker gambling industry
is likely going to use this new trend of leniency toward the gambling industry
to at least get the government to exclude internet poker from the current US ban
that has sparked international controversy for several years now. |
